how i think it would be
if they would find
one of those things
that have always been here	now-----adays---

imagine they would find something as powerfull as music
i know what they would do
oh i think i do
and if they would find something as flexible as our mind
beware of what they do
to me and to you

they would declare it their own!

'couldn't even sing my song because that stupid a-company
would declare their property on the a-minor chord
our good old minor chord!
but how could i sing if they do cut my wings when i ought to fly...

that's why i do it with ardour
do it with fun
let me dance in freedom
singing my song
as we're moving along
let me do it with ardour	because it's more fun
we're on our way to freedom	moving along
each and every one

as we're learning to be free
as everyone is supposed to be
as we're learning to be as free		as everyone 's supposed to be

and if they brought out something as peaceful as this song
they'd spoil it all up		they'd call out the cops

they would hire an army of lawers
they would set up the traps on you
they would say "WE found it, it's ours!
you're not allowed to do what you do

I--- don't want my song to be so lame...
